Gaming: who will be the winner on mobile?
New winners in gaming are created during technology paradigm shifts. They are generally destroyed when either a) they cannot shift to the next technology successfully (aka Atari) or when there’s too much time between technology advancements to increase their market reach.
Nintendo — NES — large adoption of +1 color tvs in family households.
Game Boy — Advancements in battery power, rom and display
EA Sports — Advancements in processing power, console adoption, CPU, GPU (Super NES, Sega Genesis, etc)
WoW — High-speed internet in a great % of homes
Zynga — Social networking/Facebook adoption
